How to use barbecue hut
The barbecue hut and firewood at Someron Koirametsä are at your disposal free of charge, provided you follow the given instructions.
- Always check if there is a wildfire warning in effect before lighting a fire. Making a fire is prohibited during a wildfire warning. If you cause a forest fire, you are liable for compensation for both the forest and any lost business. Warnings can be checked on the Finnish Meteorological Institute’s website.
- Lighting a fire is only permitted during sessions lasting 2 hours or longer, and it can only be made at the barbecue hut. This is because you are responsible for ensuring the fire is extinguished during your session. The next visitor may not necessarily want to spend time in the barbecue hut.
- Firewood and kindling in the barbecue hut are provided for your use, but please do not waste them. Please bring your own fire-making tools. You will find sausage sticks in the shelter.
- The fire must not be left unattended at any time and must be extinguished before you leave. Remember to keep an eye on the clock.
- Only wood or coal may be burned in the fireplace. Burning trash and using fuels is prohibited. Do not throw cigarette butts or nicotine products into the fire.
- Do not extinguish the fire with water so that the next visitor can easily light it.
We wish everyone enjoyable barbecue moments at the forest!
