New opening hours for the winter season

As autumn progresses and the days grow shorter, Someron Koirametsä will shift to winter opening hours.

Starting from October 9th, Someron Koirametsä will be open daily from 08:00 to 21:00. With this change, the special discounted prices for early birds and night owls will no longer be available.

The update is mainly due to practical reasons. The forest’s peaceful location is usually a great advantage, but during the winter it makes maintenance, such as lighting and snow plowing, more challenging.

There is battery-powered lighting at the gate and the barbecue shelter, and we will soon add seasonal lights to create more atmosphere. The lights are set to stay on only for a short time, and battery power can sometimes run low, so we always recommend bringing your own flashlight or headlamp during dark hours.

The road leading to the dog forest is plowed in winter as needed. However, since it is a small forest road, heavy snowfall may cause some delays. We do our best to anticipate these situations, but we also recommend checking the weather forecast and, if necessary, taking advantage of the option to reschedule your booking up to 6 hours before your reserved time.
