Rules of Someron Koirametsä
1. Each visitor enters the forest at their own risk
Someron Koirametsä is a natural forest environment where each individual is responsible for their own dog and its safety. Someron Koirametsä is not liable for any damages to people or dogs that may occur on the premises. Hazards have been minimized in the area, but in a natural forest, there will always be varying terrain, elevation changes, slippery surfaces, rocks, holes, roots, and other irregularities. Remember that the forest may also have snakes, ticks, or other small animals.
2. Visiting dogs must be healthy
Dogs entering the forest must be healthy and vaccinated according to the regulations of the Finnish Kennel Club. Also, please do not bring a female dog in heat to the forest. You can reschedule your booking free of charge 6 hours before your booked time, or cancel your time free of charge 24 hours before your booked time.
3. Respect nature
Moving around in the forest is allowed only on foot. Littering and damaging nature in any way are prohibited. Please do not use toxic Thermacell in the area. Do not collect anything from the forest with you.
4. Clean up after your dog
There are shovels available for cleaning up waste in the area. Dog waste bags are also provided at the gate and in the cooking shelter for your convenience. There are plenty of bins in the area. This helps us keeping the dog forest clean and pleasant.
5. Digging holes is allowed except near the fence
This ensures that dogs cannot escape under the fence, as the fence is not buried deep in the ground. There are shovels available to fill holes near the fence.
6. Do not leave your dog alone in the dog Forest
Someron Koirametsä is not responsible for dogs that escape, so please supervise your dog at all times during your visit. The gate is locked from the inside during your visit.
7. Visit the dog forest only during your reserved time and adhere to booking times
Arrive for your reserved time no earlier than 5 minutes before it starts. Exceeding your booking time is prohibited. This is to ensure a peaceful transition for all dog forest users. Remember that the area is large and recall training is recommended to catch your dog when your reservation ends. If you cannot catch your dog and your time is up, first warn the next visitor at the gate and then try again to catch your dog. If the next customer cannot access their time slot on time, you will also need to pay for their slot. Cleaning your dogs’ paws should also be done during your own booked time, not disturbing the next visitor.
8. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas
Smoking is only allowed at the gate and next to the BBQ hut in designated areas. Smoking elsewhere in the forest is prohibited. Discarding nicotine products and cigarette butts into nature is strictly prohibited. Use the designated containers for cigarette butts, do not throw them into the barbecue, trash cans, or on the ground.
9. Report problems to us
The condition of the fence is regularly inspected. Please report promptly if you notice any repairs needed on the fence or anything inside the fence that shouldn’t be there: info@someronkoirametsa.fi
10. Open fires are only allowed in the barbecue shelter
When wildfire warning is in effect, open fires are completely prohibited. Open fires are only allowed in bookings over 2 hours so that you have time to ensure the fire is extinguished. See instructions for use of the barbecue hut.
